What are Turnout Seats?

Turnout Seats also known as Swivel Seats, are designed to help people comfortably, and safely, get seated in their vehicle.

Turnout Seats are available in manual and electric options with varying seat heights and adjustments making it easier and safer for people to enter the vehicle as well as allowing for suitable transfer from a car seat to wheelchair.

How do Turnout Seats work?

Turnout seats can be fitted to almost any vehicle and are designed to help make it easier for users to get seated in their vehicle. By bringing the seat partly (and in some instances all the way) outside of a vehicle this allows for more manoeuvrability, something that makes moving between a wheelchair and car seat much more manageable. Models like the Turnout BIS come with handy features like a built in seatbelt, whilst the design of the Turny Low Vehicle now allows for adaptations to be made to vehicles that were previously considered impossible to adapt.

Turnout Seats can also be installed in conjunction with a variety of seat options that offer increased lumbar and torso support amongst other features, to help create as comfortable a driving position as possible.

Autoadapt 6-Way Base

Autoadapt 6-Way Base

The 6-Way Base is a versatile seat base that allows for easy transfer to and from a wheelchair both inside and outside your vehicle. The 6 way system allows for the driver’s seat to be positioned backwards as well as rote. The 6-Way base can also be adjusted for height allowing it to be placed in line with a wheelchair.

  • Only three toggle switches making it easy to operate
  • Eliminates sway to provide a stable and comfortable ride
  • Integrates with the vehicles interior
  • Available in left and right hand models

Autoadapt Turnout

Autoadapt Turnout

The Turnout is available in both manual and electric options and is suitable for both 2-door and 4-door vehicles. This system enables the car seat to be rotated facing outwards and means the seat sits slightly further out and closer to the user. The Turnout is suitable for both driver and passenger seats and is installed as a layer between the vehicle floor and car seat.

Turnout BIS, Ford B-Max

Turnout BIS, Ford B-Max

The Turnout BIS (built in seatbelt), Ford B-Max is the world’s first complete and fully tested swivel seat solution for the Ford B-Max. This model includes the Turnout swivel base, vehicle specific mounting brace and built in seat belt. The Turnout BIS, B-Max has been rigorously tested and has been given the status, safe vehicle adaption product.

Autoadapt Turny® Evo

The Autoadapt Turny Evo is an advanced seat lift that allows the user to get seated outside the vehicle before being comfortably lifted to safe position within the vehicle. The Turny Evo features a unique programmable movement path that can be tailored to each individual user and their vehicle. This system makes it possible for driver’s side installation.

Autoadapt Turny® HD Turny® Orbit

Autoadapt Turny® HD Turny® Orbit

The Turny HD and Turny Orbit are seat lift that allows users to get seated outside of the vehicle before being lifted smoothly and safely into the vehicle. Whilst both models feature powered lifting, The Turny HD Model has a manual swivel function whilst the Turny Orbit features an electric powered swivel. The Turny HD and Turny Orbit models are both only suitable for passenger side installation and are available in 3 different height adjustments to help make it easier for users to move between the swivel chair and a wheelchair.

Turny® Low Vehicle

Turny® Low Vehicle

The Turny Low Vehicle Turnout Seat is one of the most sophisticated models on the market today allowing installation in vehicle that were considered impossible to adapt. The Turny Low Vehicle also features great improvements in comfort and allows for more head space and leg room than most other Swivel Seats.

  • 4 degree inclination for added comfort
  • 6cm increased headspace compared to other swivel chairs
  • An extra 20 centimetres of leg room (that’s the same size as the average NBA player’s feet!)

ElapRotating Car Seat

The Rotating Car Seat is available in a number of variants and can be adjusted to suit the user’s requirements. Options like lumbar support, memory foam cushions and armrests, are all available to make sure the user is as comfortable as possible.

Autoadapt BEV Seat

Autoadapt BEV Seat

The BEV seat from Autodapat has been specifically designed to work alongside the Turny and Turnout swivels seats and is perfect for instances where the available space means a low level seat would be of benefit. The cushions in the backrest and base are removable making them easy to clean or replace. Extras such as torso or lumbar support can also be easily incorporated into the base and back rest of this chair.

Autoadapt Compact Seat

The Autoadapt Compact Seat has been designed to blend seamlessly with most car interiors and is an economical alternative to other Turnout Seat models. The compact seat does NOT have a catch release that allows the backrest to fold forward.

Recaro Specialist L

Recaro Specialist L

The Recaro Specialist L seat is a bucket seat cushion with pull-out seat extension that along with side bolsters and a backrest, ensures a comfortable and safe driving position. The seat features a manual recline and can be ordered with armrests and heating in the back rest.

Autoadapt Tilda

Autoadapt Tilda

The Autoadapt Tilda is available in both right and left side installation options and increases the head space when used with the Turny or Turnout swivel seats. The Tilda also features an optional footrest to help lift the feet gently into the vehicle. You can watch the Tilda in action below.

Autoadapt Caroslide

The Autoadapt Caroslide is a powered seat slider that works well with the Recaro, BEV and Compact seat units creating more leg room and a comfortable seating position for driving. The Caroslide is available in both left and right side installation.

How do I get a Turnout Seat?

From our workshop in Darlington we fit and install Turnout Seats throughout the North East including Hartlepool, Stockton, Durham and Northallerton.

We also offer a mobile service, as we appreciate how difficult it can be for our customers to bring their vehicles to us. In instances where it is not viable for us to do the work outside of our workshop, we will collect the car and deliver it back to you, all free of charge.
