Secondary Steering Controls

What are Secondary Steering Controls?

A Secondary Steering Control also known as wireless secondary controls can easily be attached to the steering wheel and enable drivers with restricted mobility to safely operate the vehicles secondary functions like the horn and indicators with the same hand you would use to steer.

Our Secondary Steering Control systems are supplied by UK market leaders, Lodgesons , who are the sole supplier to the AA/BSM and are the only steering product that feature a soft touch steering grip that increases driver comfort.

As there are a number of different Secondary steering control systems, each with their own unique level of functionality, we recommend you give us a call on 01325 389900 to talk through the options and decide what is best fit for you.

How do Secondary Steering Controls work?

Secondary Steering Controls are connected to the steering wheel and can be placed on either side depending on the needs of the driver. We supply and fit a number of different models with anywhere from 7 functions to 18 functions and each keypad comes with an illumination function for night-time use.

Secondary Steering Controls can be fitted with a steering ball hand grip or the new lollipop grip that provides a fantastic alternative to the standard steering ball. Both hand grips can be purchased separately as steering aids or with any of the R200 keypads. To learn more about Hand Controls please visit our hand control page.

The Secondary Controls can be easily installed and the lubricant free design means that no oil or grease will be left behind. The unique quick release system on the Lodgeson keypad also means that they can be removed from the steering wheel with little effort should someone else be driving your car.
